Thoughts are good. You think to do the right thing. But if you notice closely, most of your thoughts are absolutely useless. But they keep you pre-occupied through out the day.

Do this experiment. Observe your thoughts for an entire day and note down what those are about. Now see how many of those had any positive impact or how many of those did you act upon. To your astonishment, you will see that the percentage is very low.

So what’s wrong with them you might ask. The issue is that, they drain you out. You will feel busy the whole day even though your activity is not hectic. This is where meditation shines. If you can manage to reduce the amount of thoughts, you will notice that you will have more time on your hands. You will feel more energetic throughout the day.

Thoughts are not free! There is a cost to it, both in terms of time & energy.
